Wednesday In Easter Week

Wednesday In Easter Week

O God, whose blessed Son did manifest himself to his disciples in the breaking of bread: Open, we pray thee, the eyes of our faith, that we may behold him in all his redeeming work; through the same thy Son Jesus Christ our Lord, who liveth and reigneth with thee, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

About to getLitDateData for date: Wednesday, April 7, 2010
6:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m.

This class will meet on most Wednesdays through May 12, studying closely the central pages of Robert W. Jenson’s Systematic Theology, volume one. In these pages, Jenson develops a systematic account of the Trinity in modern terms. ————– This class is particularly for those who want to wrestle with high-octane, serious theology; it will provide a worthy alternative, in some respects, to Thomas Aquinas. ———————- Participants will be expected to read about 10-15 pages each week outside of class. But it is not expected that participants will understand the reading! In class, we will work through challenges of the reading, in some cases going sentence by sentence. ————— For April 7, we plan to continue chapter 7, “The Patrological Problem.” Newcomers are welcome.
