Lord of all power and might, who art the author and giver of all good things: Graft in our hearts the love of thy Name; increase in us true religion; nourish us with all goodness; and bring forth in us the fruit of good works; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who liveth and reigneth with thee and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Four poets in four weeks: Dr. Robert Duvall will look at some of the great poets characterized as writing in the “metaphysical” manner.
On August 8: John Donne.
August 15: George Herbert.
August 22: T. S. Eliot.
August 29: R. S. Thomas.
Each of these poets has made a distinctive contribution to the Anglican Tradition, which will be the unifying theme of the series. Persons are welcome to come, however, to any of the individual talks.
