The Second Sunday of Christmas
O God, who didst wonderfully create, and yet more wonderfully restore, the dignity of human nature: Grant that we may share the divine life of him who humbled himself to share our humanity, thy Son Jesus Christ; who liveth and reigneth with thee, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

Fr Austin leads this on-going study of the Book of Job. The Sunday class is repeated most Thursdays at 12:40pm, beginning on Thursday, January 16.
The book of Job is not just one speech after another, without any progression of thought. A careful reading uncovers many riches. Today’s class is on Job chapters 38-40, on the voice of God speaking to Job from the tempest. These are amazingly rich chapters: God invites Job, “Come, gird up your loins like a man,” using the word for “man” that suggests “hero” (the same word as Job used in his first speech in chapter 3).
