Jesus said, “I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live.”
John xi.25
As you start to plan for your funeral or for that of a loved one, the first step in the process at Saint Thomas is to schedule a meeting with one of the clergy; normally this will be with the Associate for Pastoral Care. Saint Thomas has created a Funeral and Memorial Workbook that you may also request at any time. The workbook describes the types of services held at Saint Thomas Church. You will use this as a guide for your discussion with the clergy, when you will finalize your preferences.
Planning in advance provides you with an opportunity to articulate your own wishes, not leaving the planning to family members who may not be familiar with your preferences regarding the services at Saint Thomas and who, in the midst of their grief, may find just the idea of planning a funeral overwhelming. Preplanning will give peace of mind to both you and your family.

Funeral planning is also an opportunity to think about planned giving. Learn more about making a gift to Saint Thomas in your will and becoming a member of the Duffie Guild for those making planned gifts.
