John Oghia

Drawn by its unique mission of nurturing faith through music, John first discovered Saint Thomas Church in 2008 through its Concert Series and has been attending services ever since. He joined as a pledging parishioner in 2012 and was received into the Episcopal Church in 2016. Shortly thereafter John began serving as a High Altar Acolyte and has been a member of the Young Adults & Middlers Groups.

Born in Brooklyn, NY and raised in Metuchen, New Jersey, John studied Economics at Loyola University in Maryland where he received his BA with honors, and subsequently earned his MBA from Baruch College in New York City. He is a Vice President at Shutterstock, a global content licensing company, where he leads operations strategy for its E-commerce business. Previously, he held corporate financial planning & analysis and general management positions.

John has a particular interest in liturgical music and hymnody. A part-time organist in the New York City area, he substitutes at churches across several denominations. He is an avid operagoer, has a passion for architectural photography, and enjoys travel.

He currently resides in Hoboken, NJ.
