Praised for his warm, silky tone, tenor John Ramseyer has quickly established himself in New York City as a concert, operatic, and early music soloist. Mr. Ramseyer has performed leading roles with Bronx Opera, Apotheosis Opera, Resonanz Opera, Christman Opera, The Midwest Institute of Opera, LoftOpera, and others. Highlights include “Fenton” in Falstaff, “Bill” in Jonathan Dove’s Flight (NYC Premiere), and “Channon” in Joel Mandelbaum’s The Dybbuk (Merkin Hall). As a concert and oratorio soloist, he has performed with many of New York’s finest ensembles, including the American Classical Orchestra, Orchestra of St. Luke’s, and Camerata New York. As a choral and ensemble singer, Ramseyer has appeared on a number of recordings, including the GRAMMY®-winning Ethel Smyth: The Prison with the Experiential Orchestra and Chorus, as well as a recent release from the choir of Saint Thomas Fifth Avenue, where he is a Gentleman of the Choir. A frequent collaborator with the GRAMMY®-nominated Clarion Choir, he will appear as the tenor soloist on an upcoming release of Rachmaninoff’s All-Night Vigil. Mr. Ramseyer is also a board member of the Luciano Pavarotti Foundation.
