Andrew McGowan is Dean of the Berkeley Divinity School and McFaddin Professor of Anglican Studies at Yale University. A scholar of ancient Christian practice and thought, he is author or editor of several books including Ancient Christian Worship (Baker, 2014) and Seven Last Words (Cascade, 2021), based on sermons given at St Thomas’ in 2017. His ongoing research foregrounds food, meals, and sacrifice in early Christianity. He is author of a weekly commentary series on the Revised Common Lectionary, Andrew’s Version, found at abmcg.substack.com.
