This week I have been reading a gripping intellectual history by Alan Jacobs entitled “The Year of Our Lord, 1943: Christian Humanism in an Age of Crisis.” The book introduces and weaves together the common themes of the creative work of five prominent Christians of that day: Jacques Maritain, T. S. Eliot, C. S. Lewis, W. H. Auden, and Simone Weil.

The Epiphany season is when we explore the revelation of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. This coming Sunday, we will hear the call of the first disciples when two of John the Baptist’s disciples respond to the revelation of Jesus as the “Lamb of God” and they ask where he is staying.

The Rector's Message for the Week of December 22, 2019

Attendance at our liturgies and concerts this Advent continues to surprise us. Yesterday’s attendance at the concert by the choristers exceeded the attendance at the Messiah concerts last week! We had to stop selling tickets and the Church was packed. We welcomed large numbers at the last two Sunday’s liturgies – Advent is certainly a time of expectation and hope.
