Thomas Bray
O God of compassion, who didst open the heart of thy servant Thomas Bray to answer the needs of the church in the New World: Make thy church diligent at all times to propagate the Gospel and to promote the spread of Christian knowledge; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who liveth and reigneth with thee and the Holy Ghost, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

Each month, the 30s-40s Fellowship gathers for dinner followed by a discussion on a chosen topic. This is an excellent way for newcomers to meet parishioners. This is not a singles group (some of our regulars are married with children), but rather a gathering of adults who want to grow in Christian friendship as they go through the change (and hopefully clarity!) that often comes as one approaches and enters the middle years of life.
Each month, the discussion is led by a different person. This month, our guest speaker will be Fr Tom Pike, former rector of Calvery/St. George and, in his retirement, a regular at Saint Thomas. About once a week he is the celebrant at a weekday mass in the Chantry Chapel, and also occassionally subs for Fr Austin at Sunday morning Adult Education.
Fr Pike will speak and then lead a discussion on sacred space. In 2009, the Historic Districts Council bestowed on him the title of Landmarks Lion for his work in the preservation of historic buildings and landscapes. He especially loves historic churches, and for this reason the presentation and discussion will likely take place in the nave of the church itself.
Because we neither want to over-spend nor under-prepare, we ask that you RSVP at least five days in advance. And because we are entirely a self-sustaining group, the cost of each dinner is $25 per person.
We hope you can join us!
