The Fourth Sunday In Lent (Laetare)

The Fourth Sunday In Lent (Laetare)

Gracious Father, whose blessed Son Jesus Christ came down from heaven to be the true bread which giveth life to the world: Evermore give us this bread, that he may live in us, and we in him; who liveth and reigneth with thee and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

11:00 a.m.

On this colorful Fourth Sunday in Lent, we rejoice as our violet turns rose, flowers adorn the altar, and we hear the Summary of the Law and the Comfortable Words.

The Rector explains Laetare Sunday in his weekly audio message, which you may listen to here.

Please note that while this liturgy proceeds as do most Festal Eucharists at Saint Thomas, it ends a bit unusually. The Back Cross and the Rector will follow the Front Cross and Choir into the ambulatory immediately following the closing hymn. This is due to the presentation on our Stained Glass Windows Restoration Project, which immediately follows the organ voluntary. Please remain in your pews if you intend to stay for the presentation. Coffee Hour will follows in Andrew Hall.
