The Sunday Recital Series is free and open to the public. Usually starting at approximately 5:15 p.m., it follows the 4 p.m. service on most Sundays during the academic term. The use of cameras and recording devices is strictly prohibited during the performance.

Today we welcome organist George Inscoe of London, UK.

About the Artist

Internationally renowned conductor and organist, George Inscoe began his musical career as a Canterbury Cathedral chorister under Dr David Flood. He was chosen as a UK Young Voices Tour soloist in December 2005, and Head Chorister in his final year. George then went on to become a music scholar at St Edmund’s School, Canterbury, studying piano and organ with Dr David Flood before gaining a scholarship to the Royal Academy of Music in London. He studied with Susan Landale (in London and Paris) and Bine Bryndorf (in Copenhagen) as well as improvisation with Gerard Brooks and Neil Wright. At RAM, George won numerous prizes and performed regularly in concerts, most notably as part of the renowned Bach Cantata series and Widor Organ Symphonies series. Since leaving the Academy, George has held positions at Norwich Cathedral and is currently Sub-Organist at Croydon Minster. He has performed with many notable choirs and ensembles and maintains a busy schedule as a recitalist. Recent engagements include Westminster Abbey and Cathedral, St Paul’s Cathedral. George is the Co-founder and Director of the Norwich Consort of Voices, a professional choir based in Norfolk (UK) and also runs a small recording business based in London. When not immersed in music, he can be found training for his next running race, playing football (soccer!), or in the kitchen cooking!
