What began on Sunday, June 10, now comes to an end. Fr Austin has been guiding through the remarkable First Book of Samuel. He recommends Robert Alter’s The David Story, which is a translation with commentary by that notable literary scholar. He also recommends a commentary by Francesca Aran Murphy on First Samuel in the Brazos series of theological commentaries. Today is the last class session on this topic, and we will wrap up by reading and discussing the final few chapter of First Samuel.
