Kamehameha and Emma of Hawaii, King and Queen, 1863 and 1885

Kamehameha and Emma of Hawaii, King and Queen, 1863 and 1885

O God, who didst call thy servants Kamehameha and Emma to an earthly throne that they might advance thy heavenly kingdom, and gave them zeal for thy church and love for thy people: Mercifully grant that we also may be fruitful in good works and attain to the glorious crown of thy saints; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who liveth and reigneth with thee and the Holy Ghost, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

About Evensong: Based on the services held daily in the medieval Church, Choral Evensong as arranged in the Book of Common Prayer of the Anglican Church has been sung regularly since the Sixteenth Century. Many people who are new to worship at Saint Thomas prefer to come to Choral Evensong because it is relatively contemplative. The service includes readings (just as would occur at Evening Prayer) and prayers led by a priest. An anthem as well as a setting of the Magnificat and the Nunc dimittis are sung by the choir. Read more about Choral Evensong here, or view the Choral Evensong Service Card posted to the bottom of this page, where links to the webcast can be found during and after the service.

‚ñ∫There is a brief Mass following Choral Evensong. All baptized Christians are welcome to stay on to make their Holy Communion.

‚ñ∫Are you one of the many hundreds from around the world who enjoy weekday Choral Evensong via the Saint Thomas webcasts? Choral Evensong is freely available, but at significant cost. Please help us continue the tradition of Choral Evensong for all who walk through our doors or listen in on the webcasts. We ask you to consider making yourself known to us via the Every Member Canvass at whatever level you are able.
