Nigel Biggar, the Regius Professor of Moral and Pastoral Theology at Oxford University, has written Behaving in Public to explain to ordinary, intelligent Christians why they should resist the false choice between “conservative” theological integrity and “liberal” secular consensus. If you are tired of the polarities of contemporary politics, this book can show a way beyond—a way of being (as one reviewer put it) theologically serious without being sectarian or intolerant.

The book has five chapters. Each week, Father Austin will introduce some key arguments from the chapter of the evening. There will be time for questions.
