Tabitha (Dorcas) of Joppa

Tabitha (Dorcas) of Joppa

Most Holy God, who didst raise from the dead thy servant Tabitha to display thy power and confirm that thy Son is Lord; Grant unto us thy grace, that, aided by her prayers and example, we may be given a new life in thee, to do works pleasing in thy sight; through Jesus Christ thy Son our Lord; who liveth and reigneth with thee, in the unity of the Holy Ghost, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

About Evensong: Based on the services held daily in the medieval Church, Choral Evensong as arranged in the Book of Common Prayer of the Anglican Church has been sung regularly since the Sixteenth Century. Many people who are new to worship at Saint Thomas prefer to come to Choral Evensong because it is relatively contemplative. The service includes readings (just as would occur at Evening Prayer) and prayers led by a priest. An anthem as well as a setting of the Magnificat and the Nunc dimittis are sung by the choir. Read more about Choral Evensong here, or view the Choral Evensong Service Card posted to the bottom of this page, where links to the webcast will be posted during and after the service.

‚ñ∫There is a brief Mass following Choral Evensong. All baptized Christians are welcome to stay on to make their Holy Communion.

‚ñ∫Are you one of the many hundreds from around the world who enjoy weekday Choral Evensong via the Saint Thomas webcasts? Choral Evensong is freely available, but at significant cost. Please help us continue the tradition of Choral Evensong for all who walk through our doors or listen in on the webcasts. We ask you to consider making yourself known to us via the Every Member Canvass at whatever level you are able.
